Isn't that what editing is for?

Developmental editing is great, but it's often a bad investment for beginning writers. Why? A developmental editor's job is to point out issues, but we don't rewrite the manuscript for you. If you don't know how to implement our feedback you can end up wasting thousands of dollars.

Here's what will happen when you buy:

#1 - Book Your Session
As soon as you purchase your session, you'll be taken to a booking page. Choose the date the works for you and fill out the attached form. You'll get a confirmation from me and further instructions for submitting your materials.
#2 - Submit Your Work
You'll send me three things ahead of time. A full outline or synopsis of your current draft, your full manuscript, and answers to a questionnaire I'll send you.
#3 - We Meet!
I'll send you feedback a few days before our call. Then, it's time to meet! We'll meet for about 90 minutes (up to 2 hours, the length of time I'll block in my calendar) to discuss the trends I saw in your manuscript, my feedback on your outline/synopsis, and my specific recommendations for the revision process.
 
Then, we'll put our heads together and figure out a revision plan that works for you. You'll walk away with everything you need to start rewriting your novel.

It is your responsibility to book the Revision Strategy Session. Purchasing a revision strategy session does not guarantee service on a specific date/time. If you are unable to find a time that works for you, you can contact Olivia who will make reasonable attempts to accomodate your schedule. If that does not work, you can request a refund instead.

You are also agreeing to submit all materials on time. If you do not submit your materials on time you will be required to reschedule. If you choose not to reschedule, you session booking will be forfeited and you will not be entitled to a refund.

    What times are you available?

    I assume that most of you still have day jobs (at least for now!) so I schedule strategy sessions on weekday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays. For a complete picture of my current availability, you can preview all available sessions here. Please note, you will not be able to actually book without paying and discounts are only available if you pay via Thrivecart!

    What do I need to submit to you?

    You'll need to submit three things to me ahead of time: 

    1. A synopsis or reverse outline of your novel (must be updated based on your current draft, not an outline you used to plan)

    2. Your full manuscript (does NOT need to be polished)

    3. Answers to a questionnaire that I'll send you once you book.

    What is your policy on rescheduling or cancelling?
    Life happens! Once you book your session, you'll get a link you can use to reschedule at any time. You won't be charged for rescheduling, especially if you need more time to prep your materials. If you decide that you no longer want to meet, no problem, just email me and I'll issue a refund.

    How soon can I meet with you?

    All bookings must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. All materials must be submitted at least one week before our session. Once you pay, you can book anytime. There's no rush, so make sure your outline/synopsis & manuscript are 100% ready before you schedule.

    What do I need to bring to our session?

    Just an open mind and all your revision questions. I'll send you feedback on the outline/synopsis & manuscript ahead of our call so that you can prepare any questions in advance. Once the call starts, we can adjust our agenda to meet your specific needs.
